  Evacuation Procedure

- On hearing an evacuation alarm, or on instruction of emergency personnel of your building, immediately cease all activities and leave the building
- Assist any person in immediate danger, only if safe to do so
- If practical, and only if safe to do so, secure any activity or process that may become hazardous or suffer damage if left unattended as a consequence of evacuation.
- Do not use a lift to evacuate the building
- Move calmly to the nearest assembly point and don't leave the place until informed to do so
- Follow the instructions of relevant emergency services personnel and campus emergency control personnel.


Emergency Evacuation Route Maps
Emergency evacuation procedure diagrams are located in each of the buildings throughout the campus. These diagrams provide floor plans showing the locations of emergency exits and emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers and maps for evacuation routes and emergency assembly points.
- The person designated to provide support for a disabled colleague will assist his colleague to evacuate the building, or to move to a safe area to await assistance from members of the emergency response group or emergency personnel of your building.
- A person designated to provide support for the disabled colleague should remain with that person until they are relieved of those duties.
